PostSubject: The Intel GMA 9xx Gaming   Sat Dec 13, 2008 12:29 am

Hey All

Today (As I was surfing for porn new information on the Internet on GMA , I've stumbled across an achievement found in Intel site itself). It sems that a guy by the name of Mr.Rabbit managed to find a way to hack Intel 945/915 (GMA 900/950) drivers that allows DirectX 10 Gaming (no joke. Read more on how is it possible in the first place). This guy (seems to be a genius) managed to hack Intel 4 series drivers (Drivers meant for the new X3100 , 965 chipset) and made it possible to work with older Intel Graphics. Thus giving you the possibility of playing games such as COD2 (which was thought to do be IMPOSSIBLE to play on). Nevertheless , it gives us some hope for people who are using this on-board card to play some decent games. (Oh you may forget about latest games , they might work however I am not sure if its even playable in the first place or not)

Anyway , here are the drivers. Sorry , Its meant for Vista only.

EDIT : It appers that there is a XP version as well sure if it would work. Its UNTESTED. Mr.Rabbit , didn't write or modified it. Its written by another guy.

(VISTA)
(Windows XP - Untested)

Install and forget. It might rant on saying that its not signed. Just ignore that. Once you have installed , check out your DirectX Version ( ggo to start and type dxdiag and it would show Version 10 instead of 9.0c. Congrats , you have unlocked DirectX 10 capabilities of this card *cough , it uses your CPU* *cough* *cough*)

Anyway those who are being adventurous can modify latest drivers from Intel by following Mr. Rabbit's guide

Its simple to modify. Download the “Mobile Intel 4 Series Drivers for Windows Vista” from intel. Then extract the “.exe” file, you can do it using winrar. Then move to Graphics folder. There you will notice a file called Igdlh.inf or in other words setup information fîle. Now, make sure the drivers ur downloading the file version is 15.9.8. Ok…now do exactly as I am telling you…

Copy the following coding as in its apporpriate places…

= Under [Intel.mfg] copy this

%iLPGD1% = i945G1, PCI\VEN8086&DEV2776

iCLGD1 = “Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family”

iCLGE0 = “Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family”

There you go. Then just save the file again and close . Then run the setup.exe…During installation it will ask u wheather u wanna proceed with the installation or not. Just say yes…And one more thing when ur done installation. just open run and type “dxdiag”. You will notice that these drivers are actually WHQL DIGITAL SIGNED for GMA950. And also ur DDI Version will change to 10 from 9ex. If u need any assistance just scrap a msg and I will get back to you…Also the above coding can be used by any user of 945chipset. As I have modified the coding in a manner that all 945 chipsets will accept the driver for installation.

All the best guys……Hope u guys give me some credit for the hard work…

So its possible to game on your netbooks and older laptops now with the Intel GMA 9xx series. People have reported that their frame rates went up and things like that. I am not sure , as I'll be doing tests myself (Downgraded from Vista to XP and now upgrading back to Vista to test this whole thing out). If it does give hope , that means we can play somewhat new games on our netbooks and older laptops with this integrated graphics card

Once you have installed this driver and to enable "emulated hardware TnL" (Mr.Rabbit claims that this card allows you to do that). Do the following

Quote :
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000]
"~game.exe"=dword:00000001

Copy and paste that to notepad and replace "~game.exe" with the .exe of the game that you wish to run (i.e "~cod4.exe"). Don't remove the ~. This would enable hardware emulated TnL and other stuff with the help of CPU. Just make sure that you got a snappy CPU. I think Mr.Rabbit made use of SSE2 and SSE3 (found on latest CPUs)

List of compatible games :-

If the game wants you to run 3DAnalyzer , you may just grab it from by doing a google search. With the modified drivers , you may play even more games (games which require you to use the modified drivers are listed here)

WINDOW VISTA BUSSINES

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm223/kosasfc/boxshot_business_lrg.jpg

Recently, i've got my self original copy of Windows Vista Business. These original copy is about RM475 in malaysia.

Some say it is the worse windows ever built. Resource hungry and a lazy piece of software when you install into the old system. If the system is not comply with it minimum requirement, you will piss. Ive already experience with it. Before that,i use the pirated windows vista. Just to feel and see the improvement to the latest and greatest windows that Microsoft built. Nay... I have to crack that windows... bla bla bla.. sometime crash bla bla.. cannot update.. bla bla.. at the end, at last , i buy the original one.

Now my pc shine with original windows vista. lol. Feel more responsive, faster and can update to the latest software patch. Less hiccup and crash. Better memory handling. After that i upgrade to 2GB RAM. Hey, i feel more responsive. More ram is better, Windows will take advantage of it.

My pc spec is
Pentium 4 3.0 HT
MOBO Intel 945GNT
2GB RAM DDR2
7.1 Audigy Value
Ati X550 256MB pcie(already dead)
Nvidia 6200TC 128MB pcie (backup gc)
500GB HD sata2
LG DVDRW/RAM
450W true power PSU

If i have enough cash, i will upgrade my pc hardware.

In conclusion... use original software. What you pay is what you get. This new windows expose your hardware potential to the max. If you think that this windows sux, hey.. use older windows XP or switch to linux. lol

7-zip
The main features of 7-Zip: High compression ratio in new 7z format with LZMA compression. Supported formats: Packing / unpacking: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR; Unpacking only: RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZH, CHM, MSI, WIM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS. For ZIP and GZIP formats 7-Zip provides compression ratio that is 2-10 % better than ratio provided by PKZip and WinZip. Self-extracting capability for 7z format. Integration with Windows Shell. Powerful File Manager. Powerful command line version. Version 4.57 supports WinZip-compatible AES-256 encryption for .ZIP archives and 7-Zip can unpack MSI and WIM archives now. Also there are some speed optimizations.

t's easy for Windows users to forget that WinZip isn't the only file-compression utility in the world. Like its better-known competitors, the free 7-Zip unpacks a host of archive formats, including ZIP, TAR, GZ, and its own 7z format. Unlike WinZip, though, it can create TAR and GZ archives, which are commonly used on Unix and Linux systems. The program's ability to shrink files was stunning. In our tests, 7z archives were up to 40 percent smaller then their ZIP equivalents, although compression did take longer, and the highest compression settings can hog system resources. Advanced options include the ability to create solid and self-extracting archives, and to adjust the compression level and password protection. The program also has a command line module. Though the main interface is overly simple and looks like it was designed for Windows 95, it's not hard to use and fairly self-explanatory. The context menu options, which include "testing" an archive, indicate that 7-Zip should be taken seriously. 7-Zip is fine for casual users with a bit of computer savvy, but it's especially well-suited for developers and anyone else who moves between the Windows and Linux/Unix worlds.
It free and opensource.Better than Winzip and winrar. Work at Windows XP SPx,Windows XP x64,Windows server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows Vista 64bit.[b]

Photobucket" border="0" alt="" />[img][/img]Photobucket" border="0" alt="" />[img][/img][flash][/flash][img][/img]http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm223/kosasfc/boxshot_business_lrg.jpg[img][/img]
